Anti-Harassment Policy
Mrityunjay Yogpeeth – Yoga Teacher Training Course
1. Purpose
At Mrityunjay Yogpeeth, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students, teachers, staff, and visitors. Harassment of any kind-whether verbal, physical, sexual, discriminatory, or digital-will not be tolerated. This policy aims to prevent and address all forms of harassment, ensuring that every member of our community feels supported and safe throughout the yoga teacher training journey.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All students enrolled in Mrityunjay Yogpeeth's yoga teacher training courses (in-person or online).
- Faculty, guest instructors, and staff.
- Volunteers and service providers.
- Any activities related to the training, whether on or off premises.
3. Definitions of Harassment
Harassment is any unwelcome or offensive behaviour that creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment. It includes, but is not limited to:
a) Sexual Harassment
- Unwelcome sexual advances or gestures.
- Inappropriate touching or physical proximity.
- Comments or jokes of a sexual nature.
- Sharing sexually explicit material or images.)
- Pressuring someone into sexual activity.
b) Discriminatory Harassment
- Harassment based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, nationality, or any protected identity.
- Derogatory language, slurs, or mocking behaviour.
c) Physical Harassment
- Threatening behaviour or physical intimidation.
- Unwanted physical contact.
- Physical assault.
d) Verbal and Emotional Harassment
- Insults, shouting, or name-calling.
- Belittling or humiliating someone in front of others.
- Persistent unwelcome criticism.
e) Digital/Online Harassment
- Sending threatening or harassing messages.
- Sharing private information or images without consent.
- Cyberbullying, trolling, or online stalking.
4. Reporting and Complaints Procedure
We encourage any individual who believes they have experienced or witnessed harassment to report the incident promptly. Reports can be made to:
- Course Director or Program Coordinator
- Any designated staff member
- Via email at: note.aniruddh@gmail.com
All complaints will be treated seriously, confidentially, and without fear of retaliation. Reports can be made anonymously if desired.
5. Investigation and Response
Upon receiving a complaint, Mrityunjay Yogpeeth will:
- Acknowledge the complaint and begin a prompt, impartial investigation.
- Maintain confidentiality to the greatest extent possible.
- The interview involved parties and any witnesses.
- Take appropriate corrective action based on findings.
Disciplinary actions for confirmed violations may include:
- Verbal or written warning.
- Removal from the course without refund.
- Ban from future participation in any Mrityunjay Yogpeeth events or trainings.
- Referral to legal authorities, if applicable.
6. Non-Retaliation
No individual will face retaliation or reprisal for reporting harassment in good faith or participating in an investigation. Retaliation itself is considered a serious violation of this policy and may result in disciplinary action.
7. Responsibility
All participants, instructors, and staff are responsible for:
- Maintaining a respectful and inclusive learning space.
- Understanding and abiding by this policy.
- Speaking up if they witness or experience inappropriate behaviour.
8. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as needed to remain in compliance with best practices and applicable laws.
